MATH IN A CLOCK

I really do believe that Mathematics is all around us. In everything that we do we can connect it to Math itself. A clock is an instrument that can measure and indicate time. For me there are three things present in a clock that can be linked to Mathematics and these are:

1. Numbers

As we all know, we read a time in a clock by numbers. There are only 12 numbers in a clock but these numbers are much more than what we think. Because approximately there’s 24 hours, 1440 minutes, 86400 seconds in a day by just two full rounds of a clock.

2. Angles

In a clock there are 3 hands, one for the hour, one for the minutes and one for the seconds. And by these hands you can form many types of angles. For example when the clock strikes at 3:00 the hour hand and the minute hand can form a right angle, and not only this but you can also form other angles.

3. Time

A clock is one of the amazing things that have been invented because it measured time. Time is used to quantify or compare the duration of events or the intervals between them. And by that time is inclined to math because it measures the hours, minutes and seconds in a day, a week, a month or even a year. These three things are what I think that connects math to a clock.
